The Costas Group was selected by US Department of Commerce to provide consulting for RFP development of the national first responder NG911 compliant network known as "FirstNet". FirstNet is the congressionally mandated solution to address communication interoperability challenges which hampered first responder operations on 9/11; it's mission is to create a national digital communications network eliminating interoperability and bandwidth restrictions of the current Land Mobile Radio networks.
The Costas Group is one of 5 SDVOSB firms awarded a 5-year BPA ($500M ceiling) from the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSD(I)) . The contract will be used for awards for the entire Washington Headquarters Services (WHS). WHS is the essential services provider for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and offices in the National Capital Region. WHS provides a wide range of centralized capabilities to DoD headquarters, OSD, and DoD components, enabling economies of scale for delivering essential services to fulfill the mission of the Department.
